UNION, SOUTH CAROLINA, June 25 (Nationwide Times) — Three Wendy’s employees in Union, South Carolina, have been charged after police said food was taken from the trash, spat on and served back to a customer who complained about her drive-thru order.

The Union Police Department said the incident happened at the Wendy’s on North Duncan Bypass, according to reporting cited by Audacy. Fox News reported the date as May 31, while Audacy cited police as saying it happened May 30.

Authorities said the customer’s original order was remade after she complained, then allegedly tampered with before it was handed back. Fox News reported that the employees were charged with tampering with a human drug product or food item.

Fox News identified the charged employees as Aaliyah Shuntai Sanders, Trinity Lashell Rice and Shadela Crystal Holley. Audacy reported that Sanders and Rice were arrested and that a third employee was disciplined by the restaurant. Fox News also reported that the arrests took place separately between June 16 and June 22, and that the manager said all three workers had been written up.
