SANTA CLARA, Calif., June 27 (San Francisco News Online) — NVIDIA on June 22 introduced NVIDIA Halos for Robotics, a standardized safety architecture the company says connects AI compute, system software, sensor data, safety applications and inspection for robotic systems.

The company said the system combines NVIDIA IGX Thor and Holoscan Sensor Bridge for compute and sensor connections, NVIDIA Halos OS for safety software functions, and the NVIDIA Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab for inspection and certification preparation.

In its announcement, NVIDIA called Halos for Robotics an industry-first full-stack safety system for robotics and physical AI. The company said the design draws on more than 18,600 engineering years of autonomous vehicle safety work.

NVIDIA also said the Halos AI Systems Inspection Lab is the world’s first ANAB-accredited program for functional and AI safety for physical AI. The company said the lab is intended to help partners prepare for third-party certification from TÜV Rheinland, UL Solutions, TÜV SÜD, exida, SGS and CertX.
