LAREDO, Texas, June 23 (Del Rio Online) — U.S. Customs and Border Protection said officers seized more than 1,100 pounds of suspected methamphetamine from a commercial truck at the World Trade Bridge in Laredo after a secondary inspection on June 15.

CBP said a commercial truck described as a 2013 D-13 Volvo and carrying a shipment manifested as “polypropylene” was referred for additional screening by a CBP officer.

After a canine inspection and a nonintrusive inspection system exam, officers found 1,100.79 pounds of suspected methamphetamine, the agency said. CBP said the drugs had an estimated street value of $10,122,012.

CBP seized the narcotics, and Homeland Security Investigations special agents are investigating.

The seizure comes as federal officers continue to screen commercial traffic at the South Texas border crossing for hidden narcotics and other contraband.
