DETROIT, June 22 (Our Michigan Times) — Chevrolet on June 16 introduced the next-generation 2027 Silverado 1500, saying the pickup is “the most powerful Silverado ever” and will reach dealerships later this year.
The automaker said the new truck will offer next-generation 5.7-liter and 6.6-liter V8 engines, along with the enhanced 2.7-liter TurboMax and the class-exclusive Duramax 3.0-liter turbo-diesel. Chevrolet says the lineup will continue to include four powertrain choices.
Chevrolet also said the 2027 Silverado 1500 now offers what it calls the most powerful naturally aspirated V8 engine in its class. The company did not release horsepower, torque or fuel-economy figures in its announcement.
Inside, Chevrolet said every version of the 2027 Silverado 1500 will come with a digital cockpit that includes a 16.3-inch center display and a 12.2-inch driver information center standard across the range.
ZR2 and High Country models will add an 11.5-inch front-passenger screen, along with a head-up display and rear camera mirror, Chevrolet said.
The company said the truck will be offered in seven models: WT, Custom, Custom Trail Boss, Silverado, Trail Boss, ZR2 and High Country.
Chevrolet said the new Silverado is expected to go on sale at the end of this year. Pricing will be announced later this year, the company said.
