COLUSA, Calif., May 31 (Colusa News) — An official CAL FIRE incident page lists a School Fire as 100% contained at 52 acres, but the agency’s page places that incident in Butte County, not Colusa County.

CAL FIRE’s report update states, “The School Fire is 100% contained as of 0600 5/31/26.” The page lists the containment time as 6 a.m. May 31 and says the fire started at 5:24 p.m. May 30.

The CAL FIRE page locates the fire on Ahart Road in Honcut and identifies Butte County as the county. It lists the CAL FIRE Butte Unit as the agency with jurisdiction and says no incident management team was assigned.

The cause is under investigation, according to CAL FIRE.

A separate California fire status tracker published by SanLuisObispo.com referred to a School Fire in Colusa County that was first discovered at 8:52 a.m. May 26. That tracker described it as a wildfire on private land and said, at the time of its update, that no containment data was available and the cause had not been determined.

The available records do not confirm whether the CAL FIRE incident in Butte County and the fire tracker entry in Colusa County are the same fire or separate fires with the same name.

No official Colusa County incident record in the provided materials confirmed containment, acreage, evacuations, injuries, structure damage or air-quality impacts for a School Fire.
