About Redding Times

Vibe and Culture with News

Local news for Redding, California. A Times Media Service publication.

Redding runs on river time.

We feel the Sacramento River cool the edges of a Redding summer. We take the long way across the Sundial Bridge, then head for trails with the mountains in view. We see a city shaped by water, heat and the urge to get outside, and we think its news should feel just as close to home. We report on Redding with the care we'd give a neighbor across the river. We are Redding Times.

How we started

Redding sits along the Sacramento River, with the Sundial Bridge close to downtown and mountain country in nearly every direction. Summers can be fierce, but the river, nearby lakes and trails keep pulling us outdoors. That mix of city life and open country is why we started Redding Times: we wanted our reporting to be rooted in the place where a walk across the river can be part of an ordinary afternoon.

We are part of Times Media Service, a network of local news sites. Here, we keep our attention on Redding: the streets and riverbanks people use, the changing seasons they plan around, and the local news they need to make sense of the city they call home.

How we use AI

AI and automated tools may help us with research, drafting, transcription and translation. A responsible person is accountable for everything we publish, and we disclose AI’s role when it is material.
