INGLEWOOD, Calif., June 26 (Our Los Angeles) — Türkiye beat the United States 3-2 in Los Angeles on a late Kaan Ayhan goal, but the Americans still advanced as Group D winners and will face Bosnia and Herzegovina in the round of 32 on July 1.

Arda Güler and Barış Alper Yılmaz scored for Türkiye, while Auston Trusty and Sebastian Berhalter found the net for the U.S. Ayhan settled the match in stoppage time.

The result was the Americans’ first loss of the tournament, but it did not change their place in the knockout bracket. The U.S. had already clinched first place in Group D after wins over Paraguay and Australia.

The next match for the U.S. is scheduled for July 1 against Bosnia and Herzegovina in Santa Clara, California.

The match was played at SoFi Stadium in the Los Angeles area before an announced crowd of 70,492.
